Eggs should be yoked to your training

For many years eggs have been used by bodybuilders as they have been known to be one of the best sources of high-quality proteins because they contain all the essential amino acids.

Protein should be a major part of any fitness training program as it is essential to the building and repair of muscle tissue. It is also used as fuel for the body when carbohydrates and lipid resources are depleted. In addition to these, there are many other functions of protein in the human body including cellular repair and immune response.

There is a school of thought that suggests that egg yolks should be avoided because they contain a lot of fat and cholesterol and while this may be true, consideration should be given to the source of the fat and cholesterol contained in egg yolks as more than 50% of it comes from either monounsaturated or polyunsaturated fats (i.e. the good fats).

The USDA website listed the following nutrients contained in one large hard-boiled whole egg;

Energy

Total lipid (fat)
